A key subgroup of the Commercial Drivers Union under the Trades Union Congress TUC dubbed True Drivers Union’ have cried that the price of a litre of fuel under Akufo-Addo’s is the price for a gallon under John Mahama. The group who have apologized to Ghanaians because the current economic conditions defeat their purpose for campaigning for the NPP said it was Kwaku Kwarteng Obuasi West NPP MP who influenced them. The founder of a 2016 advocacy group, Drivers for Change, that promoted the candidature of President Akufo-Addo in 2016 has apologized for helping bring Akufo-Addo to power. According to Yaw Barimah who founded the group to support Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP due to the hardship under John Mahama, what he and his group members are experiencing now under Akufo-Addo is worse than what they complained about under Mahama. Former Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akomea has finally responded to calls on him to redeem the promise of paying rent advance for the youth of Ghana. Minister shocked as 368 acres of government land is stolen

About the land size of 368 acres land that was acquired by the government at Medie in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region has been stolen. Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah was shocked at the development during a working visit to the area on Tuesday as part of a tour of the Greater Accra Region. According to him, only two acres out of the over 368 acres of land were readily available at the time of the visit as the other had been sold to private individuals by persons the ministry is yet to fish out. “A government acquired land size of 368 acres has been so encroached leaving only 2 acres. Bloggers and content creators using the GhanaWeb Reporter have earned approximately GHS 4,383.95 (USD 551.44) as of June 27, 2022. Influential political strategist of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Otchere-Darko has hinted that the Government may be seeking an intervention from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to put the economy back on track following the failure of the electronic transfer levy( E-Levy) to generate enough revenue for the economy. In a series of tweets, Mr Otchere-Darko noted that he was not against an IMF programme that will help inspire confidence in the economy. Energy Ministry outlines efforts made at reviving TOR

The Energy Ministry has detailed efforts made by the current Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to ensure that the Tema Oil Refinery(TOR) becomes a force to reckon with in Africa. A statement from the Ministry reaffirmed the Minister’s commitment to the revival of the Tema Oil Refinery adding that it has been something on the heart of the President. Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has advised residents in flood-prone areas on the best way to deal with floods. Parts of the Western Region, Takoradi got flooded after a heavy downpour. Videos and photos available on social media portrayed a very gloomy situation in the Western Region. Vehicles that tried to force their way through the flood and houses were submerged as a result of the rain. But after inspecting the extent of damage caused by the floods, Western Regional Minister indicated that it is imperative that people who live in flood-prone areas always have a plan B when the rains start.
