Kwaku Kwarteng lied to us in 2016, now Mahama’s 1 gallon fuel price is Akufo-Addo’s 1 Litre — Drivers Union
A key subgroup of the Commercial Drivers Union under the Trades Union Congress TUC dubbed True Drivers Union’ have cried that the price of a litre of fuel under Akufo-Addo’s is the price for a gallon under John Mahama.
The group who have apologized to Ghanaians because the current economic conditions defeat their purpose for campaigning for the NPP said it was Kwaku Kwarteng Obuasi West NPP MP who influenced them.
According to founder and spokesperson for the group, Kwaku Kwarteng led them to sue to the Mahama administration in court over fuel prices but today, they are paying more than 4 times the price they went to court for.
The group says they feel disappointed for supporting the NPP in 2016.
“Under John Mahama we bought Petrol at Ghc3.26 per litre multiplied by 4.5 which is Ghc14.67 per gallon. We founded Drivers for Change to force John Mahama to remove Ghc1 from the Ghc14.67. We even went to court. Kwaku Kwarteng led us to court to fight. I mean the Obuasi West MP.” The group said.
“Today John Mahama’s 1 Gallon price is Akufo-Addo’s 1 litre. John Mahama must forgive us. Ghanaians should forgive us. Anyone watching us must forgive us for helping bring Akufo-Addo into power.” It added.
The Union revealed that the cost of transportation is affecting almost everything in Ghana.
“I am from Akomadan, tomatoes is not expensive but lorry fare. Can you imagine today V-power, the fuel used for big cars like v8, diesel is more expensive than Vpower. All the roads Akufo-Addo claims he has done, 10,000km we cannot see it.” The group added through its spokesperson.
