The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum, says the association is in talks with the Government to allow fans into stadiums for football matches. The Government has imposed a ban on fans going to stadia to watch Ghana Premier League matches after initially agreeing to allow 25% fans before the start of the new football season in November. A rider and his pillion have met their untimely death on the Koforidua to Manfe road in the Eastern region of Ghana through an accident. According to reports, Amos Aglago, 35, and Samuel Opare, 34, whose remains have been deposited at the morgue were travelling from Mamfe where they veered off their lane and crashed with Justice Boateng’s Hyundai H100 with registration number GE 6451-15 who was travelling to Mamfe. The two sustained several degrees of injuries and were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The third victim Kwadwo Akoto, 34, is still on admission receiving treatment. The driver of the vehicle has since been treated and discharged. Schools to reopen or to remain closed; big decision to be made today

President Akufo-Addo will be taking a final decision on whether school could open early January 2021. Government earlier this year ordered the closure of schools in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This it said is to help curb the spread of the coronavirus. Cabinet is meeting today to decide on whether schools should open and under what modalities. This come after the Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior Secondary schools (CHASS) called on the government to make available Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to all institutions when schools reopen. Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah disclosed that today’s Cabinet meeting will decide on all that. Information gathered by MyNewsGh.com in the Eastern Regional Capital, Koforidua indicates that a 50-year-old man lost his life on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, after he was knocked down by a car. Reports say the man was alighting from a Taxi close to the gate of the Koforidua Technical University where he met his untimely death. Eyewitnesses say the car which knocked down the man was filled with boys who are engaged in fraud what is known in the local parlance as sakawa who were partying with loud music and over speeding on the road. Reports indicated that the man’s legs could not be found at the spot of the accident. His remains have since been deposited at the morgue of the Koforidua ST Joseph’s hospital for autopsy.
