Mr. Muntaka said this when he seconded a  motion tabled by Effutu MP and Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin to order the General Legal Council GLC to admit some 499 students who passed the exam but could not be admitted due to a supposed “lack of space”. Muntaka stated that the position of the GLC is conservative and retrogressive and did not serve the country well. “Training a doctor is more critical than training a lawyer because when the person leaves as a doctor he deals with knives and lives directly while in the theatre. By just one stroke of a mistake, he’ll kill a human being” he said on the floor of Parliament. “Even that they find a way to go around it to train more annually in this country … and you gatekeep a very co

Northern students fail WASSCE because they are not allowed to copy – Bawku SHS Board member

Alhaji Abdallah Otiti Achuliwor Vice President for the Bawku Senior High School Old Students Association has blamed the poor performance of Senior High Schools in the Northern part of the country over the failure of teachers to allow students copy due to honesty. To him, the five regions of the Northern would have performed marvellously if teachers in that part of the country created an environment that allows students the opportunity to copy during final exams. He believes that the Northerner’s prim and properness is one of the reasons for his failure and it’s high time room is made for copying. “It is just that they have made the environment such that they are not allowed to copy the examinations, they are not able to cheat in the examinations that will enable them to make the grades. So, at the end of the day, you see the northern schools at the bottom of the league table because we want to still remain ‘pepepe’, which means the person still wants to do everything exactly. So, o
