THE GHANA Mineworkers Union (GMWU) has advocated a Presidential Special Initiative (PSI) to comprehensively accelerate the development of mining communities across the country. GMWU made the call in its pre-May Day message to mineworkers nationwide. The statement signed by GMWU’s General Secretary, Prince William Ankrah, says, “under the PSI, the government can as a matter of urgency make a special arrangement to encourage Public Private Partnership (PPP) to address the infrastructure challenges in the mining towns.” It added that through the initiative, “advanced payment of royalties can be negotiated with mining companies with good balance sheet towards this initiative. Although Tamar is still working out the kinks of her divorce with her estranged hubby #VinceHerbert, she has asked the court for a ‘status only divorce’, which would make her single by law,  the blast reports. Tamar and Vince are reportedly still working out monetary support and child custody agreements in their divorce. But Tamar makes it very clear in court documents that she wants no parts of the ‘Herbert’ name any longer. “Petitioner seeks dissolution of her marriage with Respondent based on irreconcilable differences. Petitioner believes there is nothing the Court can do to salvage or repair the marriage,” the documents read. This is not the first move Tamar has made to get this divorce out of her hair though.
