Concert! -Ghanaians react to MPs praying before an anti-LGBTQI bill

Image
Social media users have been reacting to a video of Members of Parliament(MPs) as they planned to introduce a bill against Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex(LGBTQI) in the country. In the video, the MPs can be seen either standing or sitting while they pray fervently both in ordinary language or in tongues. The Parliament is set to legislate against LGBTQI in the country following a renewed push by activists for the legalisation of LGBTQI in the country. A private member’s bill to proscribe LGBTQI in the country will be considered today. The Speaker of Parliament is a known advocate against LGBTQI. But for many social media users, the action(praying) is cosmetic given the many ills that continue to plague the country. They would rather the legislators appeal the same zeal to addressing issues of corruption, flooding, inadequate infrastructure among others. Even though some commentators support MPs praying, there seems to be an overwhelming people who think they ha
