The Member of Parliament(MP) for Bolgatanga Central in the Upper East Region, Isaac Adongo says the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) intends to scrap the worrying double-track system being run by the Free SHS policy because it’s getting young girls pregnant. According to him, the ‘Traffic Light’ system being run which allows students to stay home for some time doing nothing is worrying and needs to be scrapped as a matter of urgency. The Member of Parliament who is seeking another tenure in Parliament said “we will continue the Free SHS but would ensure that every child is able to go to school at once and come home for a few weeks and return and not to stay home for perpetuity which is leading to certain consequences we don’t want” Our children are getting pregnant, our children are becoming truants all as a result of the effect of this so-called traffic light free SHS, the double-track system, that must be eliminated to guarantee our children a better future,” he said while

Go and contest for the seat in your fatherland – Mahama Jinapor

Former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama has told the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Samuel Abu Jinapor to rather go to his father’s hometown in Buipe and contest for the seat there since Gonjas inherit from the patrilineal line. According to him, Northerners by tradition do not inherit from their mother’s side but rather from their father’s side so it’s imperative that he goes to the father’s side to contest for the seat. Citing himself as an example, the former President said “When I went to Bole in 1995 to contest as a Parliamentary on the ticket of the NDC they told me Alhaji Gilbert Iddi was the one coming to contest and advised me to go to Damongo where my mother hails from. “I went to Damongo and met the NDC executives and they looked at me in an awkward manner and finally asked me if I don’t know my father’s home and I replied I know.” “So they told me Gonjas don’t inherit from their mothers house but their fathers house”. “I, therefore, went back to my father home of

Jinapor like Akufo-Addo run away from debates because he’s nothing to offer – Mahama

Former President and leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has slammed Samuel Abu Jinapor for running away from a debate organized by the National Commission for Civic Education(NCCE) in the Damango Constituency. According to him, Abu Jinapor running away from the debate should tell the people of Damango that he has nothing to offer the people in terms of development and ideas to make lives better in the Constituency as compared to Hon Adam Mutawakilu Salifu. To Mahama, he’s not shocked that the NPP candidate run away from a debate because Abu Jinapor is learning from his “father” Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who has tried so hard to avoid from a debate on the economy. He used the opportunity to sing the praises of the Hon Adam Mutawakilu Salifu for his role in ensuring that Sawla- Damongo- Fufulso road was completed under his tenure as President. The NDC leader used the opportunity to call on the people of Damongo to vote massively for the NDC and al

I personally like Mahama but he’s a bad President – Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says he will continue to criticize the former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama although he is his very good friend. According to him, he has nothing personal against the former President but since they belong to different parts of the divide and they do not agree with each other on ideologies, he will continue to criticize him. Dr. Bawumia is of the believe that if he comes up with a policy which is not good, John Mahama will openly criticize him so he has to also criticize him when he comes up with policies that are not in the interest of the people. “I don’t have an issue with him but we are in a world of competitive politics and competitive ideas. There is nothing personal. If he brings a bad policy, I will call him out on it and if I bring a bad policy, I’m sure he will call me out on it. But that doesn’t mean there is animosity. President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party have done very well within the first term in Government, and they have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they deserve another four more years to protect, preserve and continue the good works they have started. It would be unfair, suicidal and a travesty of justice if Ghanaians fail to vote for President Akufo-Addo and NPP Parliamentary Candidates in the 7th December 2020 general elections.
