Watch penalty Nouadhibou were awarded to snatch draw against Kotoko

Mauritanian side, FC Nouadhibou, were awarded a debatable penalty in their draw against Asante Kotoko on Sunday in the CAF Champions League.

The spot-kick allowed the Mauritanian Champions to snatch a 1-1 draw at the Stade Cheikha Boidiya Nouakchott astroturf in the first leg of the preliminary round of the 2020/21 CAF Champions League.

The Porcupine Warriors had their noses in front courtesy of Ibrahim Osman’s fifth-minute goal assisted by Emmanuel Gyamfi.

In the 22nd minute, Malian referee, Gaousou Kane, awarded Nouadhibou a penalty because Yusif Mubarik handled the ball, but Asante Kotoko contended it was not supposed to be.

Striker Hemaya Tanji converted the resultant spot-kick to end the game 1-1.

Kotoko will host Nouadhibou in Ghana on December 4, 2020, in the reverse fixture.
