Brong Ahafo Regional First Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has alleged that controversial Ghanaian musician and a member of his party,  Kwame Asare-Obeng popularly called A Plus is in charge of 80% of medical supplies at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi. “A Plus is now able to cross rivers into Kumasi to make supplies at KATH. Almost 80% of the KATH’s medical supplies are being carried out by A-Plus and somebody I would reveal later. People in the region would be shocked” he added. The suspects A Kumasi Circuit Court has sentenced a 20-year-old man seven years imprisonment for defilement captured in a viral ‘gang rape’ video in a Bantama suburb in the Ashanti region. Ernest Asare, sentenced to prison with hard labour, is the oldest of five actors arrested in December 2017 after a video of a teen being gang-raped went viral on social media. The other actors who are minors and students in junior and senior high schools have been referred to a District Court for sentencing. All of the actors were all found guilty of conspiracy to commit defilement. The fifth convict was found guilty of an additional charge of aiding and abetting for filming the incident which later went viral on social media. The five were arrested in January this year by the police after they allegedly had non-consensual sexual intercourse with a girl believed to be under-age. The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has signed a 12-year agreement with ROSNEFT, for the supply of natural gas to Ghana. The signing took place on the sidelines of the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, St. Petersburg, Russia. GNPC Board Chairman, Hon. Frederick Blay, signed on behalf of GNPC, with Igor Ivanovich Sechin, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Management Board of Rosneft, signing for his company. The supply contract is a hybrid Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)/Gas supply agreement, where Rosneft delivers LNG to a regasification terminal located at the Tema Port, to be processed, and the gas delivered to GNPC at the existing Tema metering station. The Institute for Energy Security, IES is projecting a ‘substantial’ increase in fuel prices at the pump for the first pricing window of June 2018, if the National Petroleum Authority fails to intervene through the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy. The IES during the last pricing window of May 2018 projected an increment of 2-3%, which took effect, with petrol and diesel selling at 4.670 per litre and 4.660 per litre respectively. The IES is now projecting that consumers of petroleum products should expect another increment of some 3 percent.
