Tokyo Olympics: Benjamin Azamati falls short of 100m semifinals qualification

Image
Ghanaian sprinter Benjamin Azamati has missed out on the 100m semifinals at the ongoing 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The 23-year-old finished 4th in heat 7 Saturday morning clocking 10.13s behind Australia’s Rohan Browning who finished first in 10.01s, Yohan Blake of Jamaica (10.06s) and Chijindu Ujah (Great Britain 10.08s).  His time of 10.13s would have qualified him to the semis if he was in 3 of the other 6 heats.  Azamati also couldn’t qualify as one of the 2 best losers in the heats.  Earlier in the day, Ghana’s Sulemanu Tetteh has crashed out of the ongoing Tokyo Olympic Games at the round 16 stage. It follows a unanimous decision loss to Cuba’s Veitia Yosbany in the Flyweight division Saturday morning. The 28-year-old two-time Olympian went to the floor twice and did not show promising signs right from the start of the bout. He lost in all three rounds to Veitia Yosbany whose pace was swift that Tetteh couldn’t cope and received blows in the face a couple of times.  See 5 judg

Ghana’s National Security only good at eating fufu and ‘Akrante3 Nkwan’ – Captain Smart

Radio and Television personality Captain Godsbrain Blessed Smart has observed that Ghana’s National Security is one of the useless government security agencies in the country. According to him, the National Security apparatus in the country is not sharp and lacks the will to perform to ensure that Ghana’s good image is protected. He made this known on Accra-based Onua TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com . Captain Smart reached this conclusion over the failure of the National Security personnel to bring persons creating memes with “sleeping Akufo-Addo” to book. To him, it’s insulting that people will insult the President with such memes and therefore if Ghana’s National Security was apt, it could have worked at ensuring that such memes find their way out of the internet. “Ghana’s National Security only likes to eat fufu.
