I’m sorry if I stepped on toes with tough decisions – IGP James Oppong-Boanuh

Outgoing Inspector General Of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh has apologized to any toe he stepped on with his tough decisions during his tenure in office.

According to him, he may have stepped on a number of toes while in office as Ghana’s Inspector General of Police but he’s sorry because that was what was important for the country at the said time.

To be specific, he mentioned that people who were hurt by transfers made to remote areas rather than regional capitals should forgive him but at the time, that was where he believed they could serve their country better.

IGP James Oppong-Boanuh, however, was sure that he made some of the best calls whiles IGP and was grateful for the support he received.

“I may have hurt or disappointed some people by some of the decisions I took. Especially I’m aware that as IGP, a lot of people got disappointed and frustrated by transfers and postings to the non-command areas because obviously, people want to be in the capital areas. If I hurt anybody or I couldn’t meet all your expectations at the time It was necessary at that time for the good people of this country,” he said in his farewell speech at a pullout ceremony organized for him.
