Actor Adjetey Anang known in showbiz as Pusher has disclosed that he was invited to meet the Hollywood actors who visited Ghana in December 2018. After their visit, some Ghanaian celebrities complained that the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture did not create a platform for them to network with the Hollywood stars. However, speaking on Citi TV, Pusher stated that he was contacted to meet the celebrities but said he was out of the country by the time they arrived. “I am not holding brief for anybody but I remember that I was reached out to but I was out of town [by then]. But I think that the word didn’t get out there well,”  he said. Ministry takes steps to set up ‘court’ for creative arts

The Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture, has set up a Creative Arts Mediation Committee to deal with all matters relating to intellectual property rights and disputes involving creative artists. The Creative Arts Mediation Committee was formed in consultation with the Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice. Membership of the committee is made up of representatives of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), Audio-Visual Rights Society of Ghana (ARSOG), Musicians Union of Ghana, Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) and Ghana Actors Guild. The committee is chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge, Mr. Justice Samuel Brobbey; board chairman of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and chairman of the Brobbey Commission that collated views from the public leading to the creation of six more regions in the country. National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has been invited formally by the Criminal Investigation Department over his alleged statement in a leaked audio. He is due to appear before the CID tomorrow. His invitation letter was signed by the Deputy Director General of the CID asking him to report by 10 am tomorrow at the Headquarters of the CID. Turns out the cash crunch many Ghanaians are currently experiencing has hit the arts and films industry too. Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson could not make it the 50th Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou due to lack of funds.
