Caf Women’s CL: Hasaacas Ladies to face Burkina Faso’s USFA in Wafu B qualifiers semifinals
Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies FC have beaten Niger’s AS Police 3-0 at the Stade Champroux, Ivory Coast on Friday night in the Wafu Zone B qualifiers for the maiden Caf Women’s Champions League.
A Doris Boaduwaa goal and Milot Abena Pokuaa’s double sealed the victory for the Ghana champions.
The result means Hasaacas Ladies join Nigeria’s Rivers Angels to qualify from Group B to the semifinals. Hasmal will face Burkina Faso’s Union Sportive des Forces Armées.
The 4-time Ghanaian champions lost 2-0 to the Nigerian side in their opening group game, the same as the Nigerien club who suffered a 5-0 loss in their opener and now out of the competition.
Boaduwaa fired Hasaacas into the lead in the 22nd minute after a mix-up at the back of AS Police.
AS Police had a poorly taken penalty saved by goalkeeper Grace Banwah in the 40th minute before Milot Pokuaa scored her first and Hasaacas’ second in first-half stoppage time.
Milot Pokuaa scored the third of the game in the 74th minute to round up the game as her side marches into the semis.
Meanwhile, in Group A, Union Sportive des Forces Armées of Burkina Faso were 2-1 winners over Togo’s Amis du Monde in their second Group A game.
It men’s both teams qualify from Group A to the semifinals while Ivory Coast’s Onze Soeur de Gagnoa exit the tournament.
Rivers Angels will face Amis du Monde in the semifinals while Hasaacas Ladies tackle Union Sportive des Forces Armées in the other tie.
The winner of each semifinal fixture qualifies for the final tournament in Egypt.
