A/R: Teachers boycott classes, suspend exams over the shit bombing of Kobriso D/A primary school
Teachers at Kobriso D/A primary school near Manso Adubia in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have embarked on an indefinite strike after some unknown persons painted the school and classrooms with human excreta
The strike which started this morning Friday, July 30, 2021, will affect the end-of-term examination in the school.
Due to the lack of a toilet facility in the area, the residents of the community have resorted to defecating in the classrooms when school is not in session.
The students on Thursday, July 29, 2021, were forced to learn under trees due to the pungent smell as a result of the continuous defecation in the classrooms by the residents.
The teachers in the school expressing their grievances in an interview with Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo said they are always greeted with the horrible smell anytime they come to school.
According to the teachers, “We are tired of forcing the students to clean human excreta by others in their classrooms”
“Our boycott starts today and we don’t know the date we will come back to classes to teach because, despite several complaints to the authorities, our concerns have not been addressed” they revealed to MyNewsGh.com’s reporters
“This is not the first time and the second time. Even within a week, we can record 3 cases where unknown people will be easing themselves in our classrooms”
Meanwhile, the students explained that “the situation is affecting teaching and learning in the school since they feel uncomfortable to learn after cleaning the waste done by others in their classrooms”.
They said, “We couldn’t write our exams yesterday because of the situation. We were forced to move all our tables and chairs outside, but we couldn’t write the exams”.
