GHC100 Cathedral Contribution: Ken Ofori Atta needs prayers instead – Vim Lady

Head of Programmes at Despite Media Group Afia Pokuaa Known as Vim Lady has drawn the attention of Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta to some pertinent issues that need donations from Ghanaians to help bring to an end.

The Finance Minister presenting the mid-year budget review to Parliament appealed to the people of Ghana to make monthly contributions towards the building of Ghana’s Cathedral.

“Work on the National Cathedral is progressing speedily and following the program of the contractor. The National Cathedral is expected to be officially commissioned on March 6, 2024. Upon completion, the National Cathedral will provide a space for formal religious activities of state and symbolize the enormous contribution of faith to nation-building.”

He went on “this state and church partnership envisaged by the president to develop the National Cathedral is on course. An initiative; the GHC100 a month also dubbed “Ketoa Biaa Nsua” will be launched by the trustees of the National Cathedral on August 12, 2021, to give as many Ghanaians as possible the opportunity to be part of the history of the National Cathedral.”

He detailed “the aim of the club is to raise one million Ghanaians who would give GHC100 a month for the construction of the national cathedral.”

“A special shortcode 979 has been developed for this purpose as we look forward to Mr speaker and all the members of this august house join in the GHc100/a month.”

But reacting to the appeal by the Minister, Afia Pokuaa believes that such benevolence should be directed at raising money to fight some societal ills that are hindering some Ghanaians of a better life.

To her, for the Minister to be bold to appeal to Ghanaians to donate money for building a Cathedral is a clear indication that he is unfazed by the challenges of the average Ghanaians and therefore needs Jesus in his life.

“Ashock for this minister o, we should pay ghc100 for the cathedral? I want to send him pictures of *Schools Under Trees, villages drinking water with animals, Villages without clinics. Let me pray for this Minister. He needs Jesus. The whole nation needs Jesus.”
