NPP’s Double-track brewing teenage pregnancies – Isaac Adongo

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Bolgatanga Central in the Upper East Region, Isaac Adongo says the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) intends to scrap the worrying double-track system being run by the Free SHS policy because it’s getting young girls pregnant.

According to him, the ‘Traffic Light’ system being run which allows students to stay home for some time doing nothing is worrying and needs to be scrapped as a matter of urgency.

The Member of Parliament who is seeking another tenure in Parliament said “we will continue the Free SHS but would ensure that every child is able to go to school at once and come home for a few weeks and return and not to stay home for perpetuity which is leading to certain consequences we don’t want”

Our children are getting pregnant, our children are becoming truants all as a result of the effect of this so-called traffic light free SHS, the double-track system, that must be eliminated to guarantee our children a better future,” he said whiles addressing the Chiefs and people of Sirigu in the Upper East Region

He reiterated the position of his party’s flagbearer who intends to end the Double Track system in one year by completing abandoned school projects and expansion of infrastructure in existing schools.
