JUST In: 2 suspects arrested over Kaaka’s murder at Ejura
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Ibrahim Mohammed popularly known as Kaaka at Dagombaline in Ejura in the Ashanti Region.
Kaaka was allegedly attacked by some thugs at Ejura, subjected to severe beatings and as a result became unconscious.
He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi but died days later on admission sparking a street protest at Ejura.
Personnel of the Ghana Police Service swiftly moved in and arrested Ibrahim Issaka alias Anyars and Fuseni Alhassan who played key roles in the attack of the deceased.
The Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASP Godwin Ahianyo addressing the media in Kumasi explained that “the witness accounts show that the deceased Kaaka was ambushed in front of his house when he was returning home on his motorcycle around 1:30am on Sunday June 27, 2021.
According to ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the deceased was rushed to the Ejura government hospital and was later transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was pronounced dead days later admission.
“Police investigation will also extend to rumors that the deceased was a journalist and a member of #FixTheCountry movement to ascertain if the murder was linked to his work or the movement.”
The Ashanti Regional Police Command therefore appealed to anyone who has a relevant information to share with the police to help Police in their investigations to track down more suspects if any.
