My motivation in politics comes from my late father’s legacy – Farouk Aliu Mahama

Member of Parliament elect for the Yendi Constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama has said that he joined the political circles in Ghana to ensure that his father’s legacy still lives on even after his death.

According to him, although his father was unable to win as President of the country, he did a great job and contributed his quota to the country’s development.

“My father was supportive of President Kufuor. He supported the party as a whole and made sure that with his partnership with Kufuor, we won power for the first time after 29 years. He did a very good job for the country even though he tried to become a president and could not succeed,” he said in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

He continued “I couldn’t sit down to see my late father’s legacy discontinued because he’s part of my motivation to make sure that my father’s legacy and his name shouldn’t die and that is my motivation”.

Meanwhile, a youth group in the Northern region have appealed to the President to appoint Farouk Aliu Mahama into his cabinet considering the votes he garnered for the NPP in Yendi in the just ended parliamentary and presidential elections.

To the Youth Group, Farouk is pragmatic and experienced and adding such a dynamic young man to cabinet will go a long way to help the New Patriotic Party.
