It’s better to enjoy life without marriage than to die because of it – Federation of Women
The president of the Federation of Women in Ashanti Region, Esther Nana Agyemang is arguing the Bible does not recognize it as a sin if female gospel artistes divorce their husbands subjecting them to various forms of ill-treatment.
Some female gospel artists who have divorced their husbands including Obaapa Christy, Joyce Blessing and others have been criticized by a cross-section of Ghanaians including pastors for not obeying the will of God.
But the president of Federation Women in Ashanti Region Esther Nana Agyemang in an interview with AMBASSADOR TV hosted by Osei Kwadwo monitored by MyNewsGh.com explained that Majority of female gospel artistes married their husbands following pressure from their families and friends.
“The Bible said what God has joined together, let no one separate, but now majority go into marriage after dating and having an affair for so many years. That marriage can never be classified as what God has put together”.
“I’m against married women who cheat on their husbands so if you think the man is not helping you, it is better you divorce him and move on with your life. Don’t die because of marriage because your life is more valuable than marriage” She explained.
Speaking about Joyce Blessing and Obaapa Christy’s divorce, Esther Nana Agyemang explained that “The two gospel artistes took bold decisions and they must be commended and not condemned”.
“Now look at how the whole world cried following the death of Famous Nigeria gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu but if that woman divorced her husband just to save her life, people would have used Bible quotations to criticize and chastise her”.
She added “It is better to enjoy life without marriage than to die because of marriage. Some of the Gospel artistes husbands behave like kids and maltreat their wives because they think they can’t divorce them because of what the public will say about them”
