Energy Ministry outlines efforts made at reviving TOR

The Energy Ministry has detailed efforts made by the current Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh to ensure that the Tema Oil Refinery(TOR) becomes a force to reckon with in Africa.

A statement from the Ministry reaffirmed the Minister’s commitment to the revival of the Tema Oil Refinery adding that it has been something on the heart of the President.

The statement was reacting to claims by Institute of Economic Studies (IES) that the Minister is doing nothing to ensure the revival of TOR.

The statement detailed activities engaged in ensuring that the organization is brought back to its feet in order to provide jobs for the youth.

The Ministry said claims that Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has done nothing to revive the Tema Oil Refinery is borne out of ignorance.

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources says its preliminary investigations into the will of the late Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie have revealed that there are no records of the late Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Forestry Commission’s ownership of portions of the Achimota Forest and the Sakumono Ramsar site.
