Former Joy Fm news anchor Dzifa Bampoh back on Radio from Tullow Oil, heads to Media General

Image
The name Dzifa Bampoh is not new to radio listeners especially those who were addicted to Accra-based Joy FM a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group. The popular news anchor who partnered with colleague Broadcast Journalist Evans Mensah to present News Night on the station is back on radio after close to four years when she resigned from Joy FM to join Tullow Oil corporate world. It has however been confirmed that Dzifa Bampoh will be heading to Media General as one of the new additions of the station joining colleague Roland Walker who is a news anchor on TV3. Details of the role to be played by the popular newscaster remains sketchy but a flier has gone viral on social media congratulating her for agreeing to be part of the Media General family. It would be recalled that Dzifa Bampoh in 2017 ended her service with Joy Fm after 12 years of joining the outfit from GBC’s Unique Fm. If your own taped corruption didn’t destroy the judiciary, what will criticism do?- lawyer asks Judicial Service

Lawyer and advocate for legal education reforms in Ghana, Mawuse Oliver Barker-Vormawor has asserted that criticising the courts and holding it to account will not bring it into disrepute given that even corruption within the judiciary itself did bring down and make the populace lose faith in it. Mr Barker-Vormawor is of the view that if the judges and staff of the Judicial Service who were involved in a corruption scandal that rocked the judiciary a few years ago did bring the judiciary  into disrepute, then making unflattering comments about it cannot bring it down as the Judicial Service has sought to suggest. The Judicial Service earlier this week ordered media to pull down all “incendiary” “spiteful” or “vengeful” publications against the courts, especially those Supreme Court judges sitting on the 2020 Election Petition, arguing that such publications have the potential of undermining the judiciary’s ability to administer justice. But Mr Barker-Vormawor has criticised th...

Shatta Wale threatens to beat music producer for exposing him for not paying for his services

Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has threatened to beat music producer MOG for exposing him. MOG on Sunday in series of tweets exposed Shatta Wale for not paying a dime for the work he did for him on the Reign Album some years ago. According to him, although the album was a success and ten songs he worked on made waves, he did not get a dime out of the work he did for the Dancehall artiste. Shatta Wale reacting to this indicated that he will beat the music producer wherever he meets him because he needs to have a police case with him. The Dancehall artiste disclosed that he was not charged for the work MOG did for adding that he gave him money for his mother. Shatta Wale indicated that with this development, he will not work with any other Ghanaian producer again because he can do it on his own. According to him, when the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led administration came to power, Ghana owed Nigeria some money for gas supply which was not paid by the Mahama led administration. On the back of this debt, which was to the tune $180 million the LGBTQI Community approached the President of Ghana to offer him two billion dollars so that their activities will be legalized. President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given a strong indication that the vaccine for the COVID-19 is safe and do not cause impotence in men. Among others are that the vaccine causes infertility in women and also leads to impotence in men. Others claim the whites want to use it as a means to wipe out the African race. Another worrying conspiracy theory is the fact that the vaccine contains a chip to track the activities of Afrficans. But addressing the country, the President downplayed such theories indicating that the vaccines are safe. To this effect, he indicated that he together with his wife and Vice President and his wife will be taking their jabs in separate medical facilities in the country. After that, the President indicated that the Speaker of Parliament and Members of Parliament will receive their jabs. Adding that other promine...

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party Akosua Manu has called for a cease-fire between the Alan Kyeremanteng Bloc and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia block. This call comes after a clash on social media over a photo of Alan Kyeremanteng’s wife which has since gone viral. According to her, 2024 is about breaking the eight cycle by beating the NDC for the third time. She indicated that the race is not to destroy the party but to consolidate their gains in order to get the nod to govern the people of Ghana for another term therefore attempts to break their ranks with who becomes flagbearer is needless. “Break the 8 or break the party ? Some posts are needless. If you truly wish the party well, be careful what you put out there. In 2024,it is the NPP against NDC. Let’s be guided,” she said in a post shared on her Facebook page. There is a ragging debate on who take over from Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party. This seem to have created a division in the pa...

You can’t gag us – Franklin Cudjoe tells Judges, Judicial Service

Image
President of Think Tank IMANI Africa Franklin Cudjoe has told the Judges in the country that they cannot gag the public from criticizing their rulings and work in the court of law. According to him, so far as Lawyers go for appeal and reviews on rulings made on issues, there is the need for the public to call out Judges when their rulings are seen as unfair. He is lawyer for Judges, who through him have given a stern warning to all media houses not to publish vile, hateful and incendiary comments against Judges who are just doing their work. Frankly some parts of that letter to media houses were condescendin...
