‘Greedy Bastard’ Mahama, cronies splashing stolen cash – Kennedy Agyapong

Member of Parliament for Assin South, Kennedy Agyapong says the former President of Ghana has money to splash around because, during his tenure, he stole a lot of money from the various projects he undertook in the country. According to him, various projects undertaken by John Drama Mahama’s administration were overpriced to provide excess profit for the NDC and therefore that’s the reason why John Dramani Mahama has enough money to spare. “That is why John Mahama is seen around splashing cash. All those monies are stolen monies from overpriced projects. I can tell you that under Mahama, a project which is supposed to cost the country GHC 10 will be priced at GHC 100. So now Mahama has a lot of money to be giving out food and displaying it on social media. Only myopic people give out food and display it on social media,” he said in an interview on Accra-based Happy FM. Citing an example of the John Dramni Mahama E-Blocks, the maverick lawmaker said his research proved that the ones...

Only myopic politicians brand their faces on COVID-19 donations – Ken Agyapong charges

Businessman and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong says only myopic politicians will donate items during this crisis and brand them with their photos. He also says it’s short foresightedness for politicians to donate food to homes and display them on social media so people can see how compassionate they are. During the early days of COVID-19, most politicians across the country took advantage to donate veronica buckets to help market women and other members on their constituency follow the hand washing protocol. However, these buckets were branded with photos of most of these politicians. Speaking on Accra-based Happy FM, Kennedy Agyapong described such politicians who want to win cheap political points as myopic individuals because this is not the time to win cheap political points. He mentioned that he has made several interventions including providing over 400 hospitals beds, several face masks, hand sanitizers, gloves and many others but did not brand th...

According to him, in his early days in Parliament, the seniors he met were extraordinarily smart people whose arguments were very solid because they had in-depth knowledge and experience in diverse fields so their arguments made Parliament a place to be. “When I entered Parliament, we had seniors who were very solid people and their line of debates were exceptional. We had people like Paapa Owusu Ankomah, the current Speaker of Parliament, Mike Ocquaye, John Mahama, Bagbin and others on the other side. NDC lacks sensible people who think before they talk – Ken Agyapong

Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong says utterances of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, during the period of COVID-19 is a glaring indication that the NDC does not have any sensible personality as a member. The NDC after President Akufo-Addo ended the partial lockdown of Greater Accra, Tema and Greater Kumasi argued that the President lifted the partial lockdown to allow the Electoral Commission to register Ghanaians for a new voters register. They have also argued that the partial lockdown is meant to give the NPP an opportunity to confirm their flagbearer and also elect its 168 Parliamentary candidates. But speaking on Accra-based Happy FM, the maverick lawmaker quizzed ” does the NDC have any sensible person? Do members of the NDC think before they talk? Issues around COVID-19 has exposed the NDC of lacking sensible people. Did they think through before saying that? They’ve not said anything sensible about COVID-19″. He recalled that the General Secretary...

This means some people feel that what happened during that era is happening now and possibly worse. Referring to Isaiah 58, Dr. Adjei said, these are one of the times where those who have should assist those who don’t have. “If you have food and there is an old lady or man in your neighbourhood who doesn’t have, please give him or her som...

AUDIO: Cut the politics; complete Mahama hospitals first – Odike tells Akufo-Addo

Founder and leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike has waded into the controversy that has greeted President Akufo-Addo’s decision to build 88 new district hospitals and 6 new regional hospitals within a year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. While the president and his government say the measure is an urgent call of attention to the country’s massive health infrastructure gap, in what he calls the single largest investment in the health sector, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and some civil society organizations have said it has political campaign undertones. Even the Minority in Parliament has said the president used the pledge to build the new hospitals to launch his 2020 campaign and that the promise has nothing to do with the fight against COVID-19 but a rehash of the NPP’s 2016 manifesto promise.
