NAM1 should be arrested for GH¢650 Menzgold Digital Verification Access Card – Kwaku Boahen

Former Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwaku Boahen says Nana Appiah Mensah should be arrested by the state for asking customers of the defunct MenzGold to register with an amount of Ghc 650 to redeem their lockedup funds.

Nana Appiah Mensah, the embattled CEO of the defunct gold dealership firm Menzgold, issued an update regarding efforts to repay the more than 46,000 customers owed by the company.

In a statement signed on Friday, August 18, 2023, Nana Appiah Mensah directed enraged customers to purchase a GH¢650 Menzgold Digital Verification Access Card in order to verify their transactions.

The statement outlined that this verification card would enable customers with legitimate claims to check their transaction status, with the process requiring the uploading of original colored soft copies of supporting documents from August 10th, 2023, to September 14th, 2023.

The company stated that this verification step was necessary due to the high number of claims containing discrepancies, with over 60% of received claims having invalidating issues.

The statement also warned that failure to verify claims by the specified deadline might result in customers forfeiting their locked-up funds with the company.

But speaking on Accra-based UTV, Kwaku Boahen indicated that any serious country and government would have arrested NAM1 for coming up with that directive because clearly, it’s another move to draw cash from the Ghanaian populace.

“He should have been arrested by now for directing that enraged customers have to register and pay before their monies are paid to them. He’s finished spending the money and is devising another way of cashing out the same people from whom he took money.”

“Sometimes you wonder whether some leaders joined NAM1 to swindle the people because such a man is walking free after everything and comes back after years with another scheme just to take money.
