CAF Champions League: Medeama SC to face Remo Stars in prelims
Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama SC will face Remo Stars FC from Nigeria in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
Medeama, Ghana’s sole representative in the CAF Champions League will host the Nigerians in Ghana for the first leg.
CAF has scheduled the first leg of the preliminary round for August 18-20, 20023. The reverse fixture will be played a week later in Nigeria.
Sagamu based Remo Stars, qualified for the CAF Champions League after finishing as runners up in the Nigerian Premier League last season.
The winner of the tie will face Horoya Stars of Guinea in the next round of the competition.
Medeama became eligible for the CAF Champions League, having won their maiden Ghana Premier League trophy in June, 2023.
The Tarkwa-based club has elected to play the preliminary round of the Champions League at Cape Coast Sports Stadium, as construction works on the new T&A Stadium progresses in Tarkwa.
