Aduana FC’s GPL title hopes suffer major setback after Dreams FC defeat
Aduana FC’s hopes of clinching the Ghana Premier League title were dealt a major blow on Saturday when they lost 1-0 at home to Dreams FC.
The defeat has effectively slashed their chances of becoming champions for the third time this season.
Following Medeama’s comeback victory over King Faisal the previous day, opening up a four-point lead, Aduana FC needed a win to keep up in the race.
Dreams FC emerged triumphant with a decisive goal netted by forward Ali Huzaf in the 54th minute.
The win propelled Dreams FC five points clear of the relegation zone, providing them with a much-needed breathing space with just two matches left in the league.
The outcome of Medeama’s upcoming fixture against Samartex will determine whether they claim the coveted title.
If Medeama emerges triumphant, Aduana Stars will be left to ponder their missed opportunity and contemplate what could have been.
