Military Camouflage wearing NDC Executives yet to honor police CID invitation
MyNewsGh.com has learnt that the Eight(8) National Democratic Congress (NDC) Executives invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in the Ashanti Regional police over the wearing of military uniforms to campaign in the region have refused to honor the invite .
The invitation which was via a telephone call has been described by the Region’s First Vice Chairman Captain (retired)John Kwame Jabari as a form of intimation and inappropriate hence their refusal to honor it.
He spoke on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
“They call us on the phone for a meeting after 9am, we are now going to meet as a party to make a decision on the invitation extended to us, either to honour the invitation or not. By our principle, we will decide whether the invitation is intimidation tactics or not. If we deem it as intimidation, we will not honour it if it is not, we must honour it”, he revealed.
Since that interview, the 8 NDC members that included Captain Jabri (rtd) himself a retired military officer have not heeded to the police invitation.
MyNewsGh.com can confirm the small group of NDC members seen wearing the military look-alike uniforms and the regional executives are set to confront the media and the public with the facts of the matter and the way forward through a press conference at the party’s Regional Headquarters in Kumasi today March 29, 2023.
It would be recalled that during the visit of the former President John Dramani Mahama’s to the region, some NDC Executives known as “Green Army ”, were spotted in the military look-alike uniforms when he met delegates to woo them.
When the news broke, the public condemned the military uniform wearing NDC members with some suggesting it was needless and uncalled for.
