It’s unwise for a retired soldier in NDC to campaign in military uniform – NPP
Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nyhiaeso Constituency Chairman hopeful, Fred Okyere, has taken a swipe at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) especially its Ashanti Regional Vice Chairman Captain (Retired) John Kwame Jabari for campaigning in a military look-alike uniform.
He said it was needles for things of such nature to happen especially when Jabari served in the military at its highest level as an officer.
Speaking on Ultimate FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Mr. Okyere accused the NDC of not shedding off its militant attitude.
“I am not surprised the NDC is now campaigning in military look-alike uniforms. This is uncalled for at this stage of our democracy. This is just unwise for the NDC to do…they haven’t stopped their militant attitude”, he slammed.
“No wonder Mahama touts their credentials of having a black belt, they are still in their revolutionary roots, I am not shocked at all. What is the green army? Are you going to rival the military now?” he asked.
MyNewsGh.com can confirm that the police in the Ashanti Regional invited the eight NDC members within the Ashanti region through a phone call including its 1st Vice Regional Chairman Captain (Retired) John Kwame Jabari for campaigning in what appears to look-like a military uniform.
Known as the party’s “Green Army”, they were spotted at the John Dramani Mahama phase 1 visit in the Ashanti Region.
Days after the telephone invitation, the 8 NDC members are yet to honor the police invitation saying they need proper invitation through the party structures.
