Multiple award-winning English actor, Idrissa Akuna Elba popularly known as Idris Elba has spoken about the need for young creatives to be educated.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Opemsuo FM monitored by Amansan Krakye of MyNewsGh.com, Idris Elba stated that formal education is a good entry point for those in the creative industry.

He said “You know part of the plan that we have which is about building studios is policy and the policy comes from the government and to make sure people can industrialize filmmaking.

“But a part of that is education, education is the key and young people should get educated and it’s important if you want to be an actor, storyteller, cameraman, you have to go to school.
“School is a good entry point so what we are hoping to do alongside our film initiative is also bolster the education process,” he remarked on the show.

He ended “To find ways that when we are bringing films to Africa that there is a student component where there’s a shadowing somebody in a higher position and accreditation to a school course”.
