2022/23 GPL: Kotoko crash Kotoku Royals to end winless run

Asante Kotoko won 5-1 against Kotoku Royals at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in week 14 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

It is the first win for Seydou Zerbo’s side in their last five games in the league after drawing all the previous four.

Richmond Lamptey scored the first goal for Kotoko in the 11th minute, followed by a penalty goal from Mukwala in the 22nd minute.

Kotoku Royals pulled one back through Francis Andy Kumi in the 29th minute. In the second half, Lamptey went off injured and was replaced by Rashid Nortey.

Mukwala scored his second goal in the 61st minute before Eric Zeze added a fourth goal in the 82nd minute.

Solomon Sarfo Taylor scored the final goal in the 90th minute to make it 5-1 for the Porcupine Warriors.

The win puts Kotoko in second place with 24 points, one point behind Aduana FC.
