Listen to experienced counsel and fix the country – Akufo Addo told
National Democratic Congress (NDC) elder, Ambassador Daniel Ohene Agyekum, has noted that until and unless President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo listens to experienced counsel, his governance will continue to head into the ditch.
He said persons such as renowned economist Kwame Pianim and others who understand economics and fiscal space have been left out of the political structure of the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
Speaking on the ultimate morning with Julius Caesar Anadem monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Mr. Agyekum was of the view; the president is acting as all-knowing and unwilling for diversity.
“Why is the president behaving like he and his team are the only sensible people in the country, I am sorry but that is how his posture and commentary suggest”
“How come your minister of finance is under performing and you are telling us to wait till he finishes an IMF deal, is the president listening to himself” he asked.
“Is he saying without Ken nobody can work in that ministry, this I don’t understand. It seems when people give him suggestions, he doesn’t want to listen. I was listening to Mr. Pianim, he was making brilliant submissions, why are such people not advising the president?” he quizzed.
He urged the President to open up to suggestions and input even if it demands listening to your opponent or people you don’t like.
“Where we are, the president needs to listen more to wise counsel and not the everyday people who will not tell him the truth. He needs to be smart about these things, that’s all”, he stressed.
