All We Know About South Korea Halloween deaths
153 people have died in a Halloween Crowd Surge.
This has left the people of South Korea in a state of shock.
According to the Associated Press, eyewitnesses say there was hell-like chaos as people fell on each other “like dominoes”.
Witnesses say as a result of the chaos, some were given CPR while they were bleeding from their noses and mouth.
Ninety-seven of the dead were women and 56 were men. More than 80% of the dead are in their 20s and 30s, but at least four were teenagers.

It is estimated that 100,000 people gathered at Itaewon for the country’s biggest outdoor Halloween festivities. This was the first time after COVID-19 that the government had eased the restrictions.
The dead bodies are being kept at 42 hospitals in Seoul and nearby Gyeonggi province.
Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has called for a National Mourning and has asked that flags fly half-mast for the departed souls.
The president has ordered a thorough investigation into the cause of the mass deaths to avert similar situations in the future.
“This is really devastating. The tragedy and disaster that need not have happened took place in the heart of Seoul amid Halloween (celebrations),” he said during the speech.
Adding that “I feel heavy-hearted and cannot contain my sadness as a president responsible for the people’s lives and safety”
