Abdul Fatawu scores as Ghana edge Nicaragua in friendly

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored the only goal as Ghana edged Nicaragua on Tuesday night at the Estadio Francisco Artes Carassco in Spain.

Otto Addo’s side has, at least, picked a win after suffering a 3-0 battering against Brazil on Friday – by not just the score line, but being outplayed.

It was yet another game where the Black Stars found it difficult to convert their chances, with Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, and Osman Bukari not making use of those chances.

As Ghana was flapping the chances from the start, Fatawu popped with a piece of magic at the left side of the penalty area and curled in magnificently after 35 minutes.

The goal was the 18-year-old’s first for Ghana after nine appearances for the Black Stars.

Ghana created even better chances in the second-half but could not convert any and had to settle for the 1-0 win over Nicaragua.

The Black Stars will play Switzerland in the final friendly on November 17 before the World Cup starts a week later.
