The presidency is a seat whose occupants know no peace – Gabby Otchere Darko
Leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has said that the seat of President in Ghana is a seat for an occupant who knows no peace.
According to him, it’s very imperative that the government has invested in a presidential Cemetary named Asomdwe Park.
To him, after all the attacks at least the Presidents of Ghana will have peaceful rest when they die and are buried at the Asomdwe Park.
Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko said this while reacting to the renovated asomdwe park was inaugurated by the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He said “10yrs ago, Ghana for the 1st time lost its sitting president, John Evans Atta-Mills. May he continue to rest in asomdwe (peace). The presidency is a seat whose occupants know no peace. Asomdwehene was Mills’ nickname. Very proper to have a presidential cemetary named Asomdwe Park”.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo together with some of his appointees reopened the Asomdwe Park where Prof. Evans Fiifi Atta Mills was buried.
This was the years after the late President of Ghana passed on to eternity.
The renovation works done by the Atta Mills Institute with the support of the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had been criticized by the brother of the late President Samuel Atta Mills who thought his family was supposed to be informed.
