NPP Communications weak, no meetings, no workshops – Adomako Baafi confesses
A former Acting Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Team Yaw Adomako Baafi has complained bitterly about the party’s communications paralysis.
According to him, it is a worry that a party that’s in government has failed to train its communicators to be able to project its policies and programmes in order to douse the propaganda by the opposition
He could not remember that last time they were brought together to be trained on communication strategies and execution unlike the National Democratic Congress(NDC) which occasionally hold refresher courses for its members
Yaw Adomako Baafi said this has affected the communication of the e-levy which is a good thing but has been met with contempt.
“The e-levy is a good thing but the approach was wrong. When was the last time the communications team was brought together and tutored on approach? The messaging is one thing, prosecuting the message is another and that is effective communication.
I’ve heard Yaw is in Kumasi but we who communicate for the party were not invited. When Ken Ofori Atta was sending the thing to Parliament were we informed? Something you know certainly that the public will be against, you should have influenced public opinion. Was the media engaged? Civil society groups how many were consulted, how many chiefs were consulted,” he asked on Accra-based OKAY FM.
