They cut the face of Mustapha Yusif with a razor blade, I saw it- Old Tafo MP on chaos in parliament.
The Member of Parliament for the Old Tafo Constituency, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah has revealed that amidst the brawl and chaos that ensued between the Minority and the Majority side in parliament yesterday, the Sports Minister, Mustapha Yussif was harmed on the face with a razor blade by an NDC MP, MyNewsGh.com reports.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Kumasi-based Pure FM’s ‘Pure Morning Drive’ monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the Old Tafo MP said Ghanaians should blame the ‘evil’ acts of Speaker, Alban Bagbin for the chaos that ensued as he has turned himself into a ‘devil mayhem’.
When prompted by the host, Kwame Adjei Bohyen on the inappropriateness of his choice of words, Hon. Assafuah intimated he would use more adjectives if the airwaves permitted.
“Alban Bagbin is a devil mayhem. He has disappointed Ghanaians. If you allow me I will use more adjectives on him. He relinquished his duties and he must be blamed. I am disappointed in him. We the young ones before we came to the house somehow looked up to him to be better legislators. I am disappointed.”
“An NDC MP used razor blade to harm the face of Hon. Mustapha Yusif (MP for Yagaba/Kubori and Sports Minister). I was with him and we took him to the Parliamentary hospital. I suspect two MPs, Hon. Teddy Safori Addi (Ayensuano MP) and one Hon. Amo. This is sad. if the Children of this man wail, it goes on the Speaker.
The media must rise and speak against the dastardly act of Alban Bagbin.”- Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah told Kwame Adjei Bohyen on Pure FM.
Background
Some Members of Parliament on Monday night were engaged in a fistfight following a disagreement during the voting on government’s E-levy bill.
The fight ensued when the MPs were voting in a headcount to decide whether the E-levy bill should be accepted under a certificate of urgency.
The Minority had attempted to stop the First Deputy Speaker, Joseph Osei Owusu, who was presiding over the House, from leaving his seat and participating in the voting process.
