Ashesi freshers sit for exams without invigilators, supervisors after signing agreement not to cheat

First years of the Ashesi University class of 2023 have been taken through an orientation system to learn to sit for Examination without the presence of cameras, supervisors or invigilators under the Ashesi code.

The University officially welcomed the Class of 2023 onto what is called the Ashesi Honour Code, after the Class voted in favour of signing on.

Every year, MyNewsGh.com is reliably informed that Ashesi doesn’t impose the system on students. The students are given an option to deliberate and vote on whether they intend to sign the Ashesi Honour Code or go by the traditional system that pertains in other Universities out there where exams are invigilated, supervised and in some cases, have cameras monitoring.

Since the University’s founding, students often vote to join the system.

Under the Ashesi Honour Code, exams on campus have no invigilators or supervisors. Students pledge to hold themselves to account during exams; to not cheat or tolerate those who do.

The Honour Code encourages students to take responsibility for their own ethical posture, and learn to do the right thing even when no one is watching; to be as intentional about developing their character, as they are about developing their skills.

Ashesi has been rated as one of the top private Universities in the country with their graduates most sought after by corporations.
