Robbers who killed int’l Journalist Syyed Taalay Ahmed arrested; 2 killed in shootout

The Ghana Police Service has killed two armed robbers alleged to be involved in some robberies and murder cases along the Kintampo-Buipe-Tamale highway.

Also, the Police have four other armed robbers in their custody for similar offences including the recent killing of an International Journalist Syyed Taalay Ahmed of London-based MTA News.

The four—Saaju Bukari, Bertor Saabi, Ali Amadi and Isaad Seidu—were arrested following an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Special Anti-Robbery Task Force.

Meanwhile, former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama has called on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is President of Ghana to deal with insecurity on the roads in Ghana.

To him, it is shocking that under the current President, armed robbers have been emboldened so much so that they do not attack their victims only at night but also during the daytime.

The Statement which was issued on his behalf by his Special Aide, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, said he received with utter shock, news of an attack on yet another passenger vehicle on the Tamale- Buipe road by armed robbers, leading to the murder of an International Journalist, Syed Taaley Ahmed.

The statement said it is truly ironic that a journalist working on a documentary on peace and security should die from an incident of highway robbery, which has become symptomatic of the violent crime currently consuming the country.
