Galamsey in the belly of an elephant; Kate Gyamfua captains Nana B, John Boadu others

Whereas some executives of the New Patriotic Party are making a living pursuing clean, legitimate means of survival in government, a clique of top party functionaries have set their eyes on Ghana’s gold using a series of fronts that have now been exposed.

Leading the pack of miners are Kate Gyamfua and John Boadu who usually claim they are engaged in legitimate mining activities but have been exposed in a yet to to released docu-series sighted by MyNewsGh.com.

Kate Gyamfua uses her influence to secure concession from government serving as a front for a mining company with a complex shareholding structure while John Boadu allegedly uses his boy, one Abanga as his front in the mining sector in addition to other deals he is currently engaged in.

The said Abanga is using proceeds of illegal mining to oil his own ambition to be NPP National Youth Organizer as his boss seeks re-election as General Secretary.

Also named is youth organizer, Henry Nana Boakye who until these docu-series has been unknown to be involved in any form of galamsey.

For John Boadu, his involvement in mining has been unsurprising for many.

Within the week, he was all out defending his colleague National executive whose excavators were burnt. He said Kate Gyamfua was engaged in legal mining, not illegal mining.

“She [Kate Gyamfua ] has made her point that first of all her company engages in large scale and not galamsey (illegal small scale mining) and does not operate anywhere near a water body and so I think when she returns from vetting MMDCE aspirants, she’ll take up the needed redress she has under the laws of Ghana. Those who authorized the burning of the equipment if they also have proof that the company is engaged in galamsey then they should put it out”, he said.

But for balance, he quickly added: “This goes for all other miners who think their equipment has been wrongfully destroyed. I’m saying so because if I do not take care it will be misconstrued that I’m talking for Madam Kate Gyamfua because she’s NPP Women’s Organizer. The soldiers may also have a reason and so we need to hear from both sides so that if there’s any redress she can take it up.”

Insiders have said Kate Gyamfua’s open verbal attacks on the road minister when she had a concession front in his constituency is what led to her woes as the youth were aggrieved against her.

The dock-series is expected to drop soon.
