I had ‘no confidence’ in Mahama’s 2020 Election petition – Asiedu Nketia, says there was a ‘mistrial’

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says the verdict of the 2020 election petition was inconclusive and affirms his disbelieve in the whole court processes, MyNewsGh.com reports.

Speaking on the outcome of the petition with Umaru Sanda on CitiTv’s ‘Face To Face’ program monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah who is popularly known as ‘General Mosquito’ asserted that the general chant by some particular group of people insisting on the NDC to go to Court prior the party’s filing of its case gave him a believe that something had already been cooked and he wasn’t surprised but only had his believe confirmed when the Court passed a unanimous verdict dismissing their application.

“I think Malcom X or one of the civil rights activists once said if two people always agree then one is a liar so imagine seven people.

There was a mistrial. The outcome affirmed my disbelief in the Court process. I’m sure majority of Ghanaians believe that it was complete mistrial, a missed opportunity to hold people accountable and I can predict that the next elections may be worse than this one.” He stated.

This is the first time the NDC Chief Scribe has publicly commented on the Supreme Court ruling of the election petition after the NDC had its case thrown out in March, 2021 for lacking merits.
