Haruna Iddrisu, Muntaka still at post due to election petition -Asiedu Nketia hints of Minority bench reshuffle

General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Asiedu Nketia has hinted that the party intends to change its leadership of the party in Parliament.

He made this known when he spoke in an interview wit Accra-based Citi TV.

General Mosquito as he is affectionately called said the party started the process of changing its leadership in Parliament but halted the process due to the court case.

But since the case is now over, the party intends to continue the process.

“We haven’t done that yet because of the court case. We started but we got to a point where we felt that we needed to finish with the court case and we will come back to it. So it is something that we are going to do,” he told Citi TV in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

The General Secretary of the NDC said there should be a case where people who occupy such roles in parliament for political parties get to know that their positions are not permanent.

Asiedu Nketia indicated that the party will capitalize on Parliament’s recess to do the needed changes and when Parliament resumes, the changes will be communicated to Ghanaians and party members through a statement.

The NDC leadership in Parliament has been subject of insults and attacks after the approval of some Ministers the party thought were not cut for the task. However, the party’s leadership said they cannot be blamed because they do not want to set a precedence that will go a long way to hamper the party in future.
