BREAKING News: Okudzeto Ablakwa resigns from Appointments Committee on ‘principle grounds’
Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has resigned from the appointments Committee of parliament on grounds of principle.
According to him the reasons for this difficult decision is both personal and on principle.
This comes at a time the lesdership of the opposition bench in parliament and the Appointments Committee in particular have been accused of selling out to the government leading to seamless approval of Akufo-Addo’s nominees for ministers.
Meanwhile the NDC has hinted there could be changes in the leadership of the party in parliament after the 2020 election.
General Secretary of the party Johnson Asiedu Nketia dropped the hint yesterday revealing that the process delayed due to the election petition filed by the party.
The resignation of Mr. Ablakwa adds pressure for changes at the top. This also comes after Power FM presenter Mugabe Maase alleged an amount of 5million cedis was given to the NDC MPs on the Appointments committee but Mr. Ablakwa and Suhuyini rejected their shares.
