Bernard Mornah, others fall at PNC national elections

Benard Mornah who was the Chairman for the People-s National Convention (PNC) has been booted out of his position in the party’s just ended internal elections.

In a fiercely contested election, Moses Dani Baah, a former Member of Parliament for the Sissala East constituency in the Upper West Region beat Bernard Mornah who garnered 1266 votes  against 1297 for the winner.

Janet Asana Nabla who has been elected as the party’s General Secretary garnered 1312 votes as against her contenders Emmanuel Wilson Jnr who got 1041 while Kobe McDonald managed a meagre 230 votes.

For the Vice-Chairman slot, Henry Haruna Asante won with 1729 votes against that of Omar Ahmed Bekure’s 635, Eugene T.K. Bashiru’s 375 and Hajia Hajara Musah Ali’s 946 votes.

On the party’s Presidential race, Former Member of Parliament for the Bolgatanga Constituency, David Apasera emerged as winner of the race against Samuel Adjei-Debrah and Samson Asaki Awingobit.

David Apasera earned 1315 votes in the election that took place on Wednesday as against Samson Awingobit who got 789 votes and Rev Samuel Agyei Debrah’s 465.

David Apasera was the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Constituency which has now been divided into Bolga Central and Bolga East from 2000 to 2008 when he was defeated by the NDC’s Opam-Brown Akolbire.
