NDC will restore confidence, integrity back into Ghana Police – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC) has told Ghanaians he will restore their confidence in the Police.

This comes on the back of a communique that directed that no Police Personnel should provide protection for the NDC’s durbar to commemorate the first anniversary of the Ayawaso West Wagon violent by-election.

He said ” I feel very sad, but I promise that we will take action when we come into office, to instil the confidence of the people of Ghana in the police service.

The motto of the police service is Service with Integrity, we will work to restore the integrity of the Ghana Police Service.”

On the communique, the former President of Ghana expressed shock and was saddened that the Ghana Police Service has been reduced to the puppet of the government.

“Which professional police officer will send out a message like this? It shows the personalisation of the institutions of state that have taken place under the current NPP administration. Of course, the NDC is coming, we will reform the police.”
