Stop ethnic discrimination and hatred – NPP man cautions influential Ghanaians
Parliamentary Candidate hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Obuasi East Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Enoch Anhwere Afoakwah has condemned the statements made by two renowned men of God describing them as as a modern day embarrassment and an affront to ethnic conflict.

Leader and Founder of the Glorious Wave Ministries International, Rev. Emmanuel Badu Kobi and The Founder and leader of the Alabaster International Ministry, Prophet Kofi Oduro are both in the news for some ethnic discriminatory and hatred statements captured in viral videos circulating on various social media platforms
Mr. Anhwere Afoakwah opined that, statements such as “I am with the President and I am to offer Godly counsel, Your Excellency, fire them”, Prophet Dr. Kofi Oduro suggested to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to not augur well for national development.

He observed that the statement attributed to Prophet Dr. Kofi Oduro “Ashantis are too tribalistic. They are sabotaging the President because they wanted someone from Ashanti to become NPP flagbearer. They are doing things to make the President fail because of tribalism” and Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi’s , insulting Ashanti women as being materialistic, Fante Women being fools and Ewe women being door mats. Should be condemned by all well-meaning Ghanaians.
“We should be mindful in our rhetoric when we mount the public space as influential members of Society and desist from pitching one ethnic group to the other, one religion to the other, one Political Party to the other, it happened to the people of Rwanda and it is a painful negative history for the Rwandan people.

We must all rise up against comments that are ethnocentric, statement that divide us rather than unite us as Ghanaians. Ethnic hatred and discrimination can destabilize the peace of our nation; the revered Catholic Bishops Conference, Ghana Bar Association, National House of Chiefs, Christian Council of Ghana, The National Peace Council and other Civil Society Organizations must condemn these unfortunate statements to guide future comments and statements by influential members of our society”, he advised.
