Eight tons of the illegal products were seized over a period of one year at the Airport, post offices, border checkpoints and vehicles that had them concealed and being transported.
According to the Deputy Director of NACOB, Michael Addo, the combination of marijuana, cannabis and other illicit products that were set ablaze at the Bundaase military base on Wednesday were estimated in monetary value at 3 million dollars.
“We are burning 3 million dollars’ worth of drugs” he disclosed.
In a response to assertions that the exercise amounted to burning of colossal sums of money, Mr Addo retorted “We are burning poison that is a lot of poison to be able to destroy so many people”.

“If we find it in your car, the car would be confiscated and if we find it in your house [your] house would be confiscated” he added.
