GJA awards Bolgatanga-based YEM Radio for its fast-growing influence in the media space
Yem Radio, a subsidiary of GN Media in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region has been recognized and awarded for its fast-growing influence in the media space and being the most promising radio station in the region.
The special award which was given at the 23rd Awards Night of the GJA comes on the back of the station’s dynamics in broadcasting and its activities relating to professionalism and initiatives of the Ghana Journalists Association.
In barely seven months of its operations in Bolgatanga, YEM Radio has essentially created a new path for radio in the region with quality programs and engagement of duty bearers and newsmakers on regional and national issues.
Manager of the station Albert Azongo in a brief remark said “We are simply elated by this recognition and special award and very much motivated to do more. Our desire as a radio station is to be the most preferred by all manner of people and the most influential in the northern part of the country to be able to drive change in our part of the country and hold duty bearers to task. For the GJA to honor us and seeing us as the most promising radio station just seven months into our operations means a lot to us. It means we should work hard to justify this recognition and prospects. We are blessed with a small team that is determined to make a difference and we will keep focused”.
The station’s flagship program dubbed PM Show is set to become the toast of sociopolitical talk shows in the north as it has already engaged many newsmakers and top officials of present and past governments on varying issues.
