STUDY: 20% Of Kenya’s Young ‘Slay Queens’ Have ‘Sponsors’ Just Like Ghana’s Moesha
Kenya, just like Ghana has seen many slay queens at one point in time or the other announced themselves loudly on social media by posting a lot of ‘naket’ pictures just to attract the attention of men who are already looking to prey on such ‘cheap’ meat.
According to a study conducted by Busara Centre for Behavioural Economics for BBC Africa, approximately 20% of the young women in Kenya who participated in the research have or have had a “sponsor” just like Ghana’s Moesha.
The study explained ‘sponsor‘ as anyone be it a male or female, who provides financial assistance to a relatively younger person of the opposite s*x for basically intimate and s*xual satisfaction whenever he or she wants it.
The research for BBC Africa comes to support an interview the popular Ghanian ‘ashawobirity‘, Moesha Buduong granted CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, in which she proudly stated she is dating a married sponsor who provides all her needs in exchange for s*x.

Kenya’s case in the ‘sponsor wahala’ in no different as almost all the ladies the researchers spoke to indicated that their basic reason why they engage in such activities is to get money from these men, who are usually married.
The research also pointed out that most of these young ladies who engaged with sponsors did so just to be like popular Kenyan socialites Vera Sidika and former BBA star Huddah Monroe, as they were impressed by the extravagant lives they lived online through selling their ‘tonga’ to sponsor.
Young men in Kenya who were also cited in the research gave the same reasons as the ladies as reasons why they will proudly be sleeping with more elderly women.
