Aftermath of #12 CAF President to meet Ghana’ Sports Minister in Madagascar.
The President of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Ahmad Ahmad is set to hold a meeting with Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Isaac Asiama in Madagascar next week to discuss the situation with Ghana football.
Ghana football came to a standstill after ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed corruption in the game in his latest project dubbed, “Number 12”.
In June, former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi resigned from the post he held with FIFA and CAF after he was filmed apparently receiving $65,000 (£43,000) in cash from an undercover journalist with Tiger PI.
Already CAF has suspended eleven CAF licensed referees who were captured in the expose with the Referees Association of Ghana expected to sanction over 70 referees caught in the film taking bribes to influence the game.
The exposé which left Ghana talking about the endemic levels of corruption in football in Ghana and Africa compelled the government of Ghana to institute measures to dissolve the Ghana Football Association, setting up a 3-member liaison team in consultation with FIFA.
