NPP Chairman of controversial Fomena Constituency resigns; cites health grounds

Constituency Chairman for the controversial Fomena Constituency in the Ashanti region Akawasi Nti Asamoah has resigned.

He cites health grounds as the basis for his resignation but indicates that he will continue to support the party with his ideas.

A statement from his office indicated that although people have expressed concerns, he believes that his health is paramount and needs the needed attention.

Fomena Constituency became popular in the 2020 election after the sitting Member of Parliament contested the election as an Independent Candidate and won after he was sabotaged by his own political party.

The Member of Parliament elect has since given a strong indication that he will sit with the NPP in Parliament.
